The Rev. Dr. Weiss,
a native of Scranton, PA, is a psychotherapist, ordained
minister, and professional musician whose work is based on
a wellness model that integrates mind/body/spirit throughout
the life journey. She specializes in working with women in
spiritually-based counseling and retreats, mind/body/spirit
medicine, personal growth, creativity in healing, and stress
management. Her holistic approach has evolved from over thirty
years of professional experience as a clinical social worker,
college music teacher, and ordained minister who served in
the capacity of pastor and university chaplain. In addition to graduate degrees in
social work, theology and music, Dr. Weiss was trained in
the use of music in depth therapy and is a Fellow and supervisor
in the Association of Music and Imagery. As a specialist
in mind/body medicine, her training includes EMDR, Mindfulness-
Based Stress Reduction, and the use of the expressive arts,
guided imagery and hypnosis in treating physical and emotional
disorders. A special component of her work is facilitating
groups for people with life-threatening illnesses as well
as for chronic pain and stress management. In
private practice since 1991, Dr. Weiss was also the co-director
of the Holistic Mental Health Division at the former Center
for Integrative Medicine in Clarks Summit, PA. She currently
maintains a private practice in Northeast Pennsylvania
that emphasizes optimal living and wellness. In addition,
she is a retreat facilitator, workshop leader and consultant. Dr. Weiss resides
in the solitude of the woods outside of Lake Ariel, PA with her husband, Tom Kulesza. |
